Online Marketing Assistant

Job Description


Develop and assist with all online, direct and digital marketing activity.

Purpose of the role:

  • Assist the Digital Marketing Manager and Online Manager with their social media and direct marketing strategy along with their PPC and SEO campaigns.
  • Assist with the future development of the groups email marketing, social media, SEO, online content and blogs.
  • Assist with content management and development of all internal and external email campaigns, social media sites, websites and blogs.
  • Assist with writing, sourcing, optimising, building and sending emails, website copy and newsletters, ensuring they are effective and generate business.
  • Assist with promotional offers for these web marketing campaigns and e-shots
  • Use and understand profiling software to refine data lists
  • Help analyse and report on the effectiveness of external campaigns for SEO, PPC, email, direct mail and social media.
  • Assist the marketing team in maximising business opportunities and profitability via key media channels.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To assist in the development of the brands digital and online strategy and to ensure the effective implementation of that strategy.
  • To work with the team to drive the development and on-going use of our websites to ensure we are maximising capability, ensuring they are optimised, ensuring relevance and timeliness of content and ensuring best practice is shared across all campaigns.
  • To assist with the placement of and place items on the group’s various brand websites.
  • To maintain and update mailing databases.
  • To assist in the implementation of the online element of our marketing campaigns to ensure we are maximising opportunities via this channel.
  • To assist in the implementation of all emails and DM campaigns for clients and introducers, including collation of information, production and distribution.
  • To monitor competitor activity for ideas.
  • To assist the team in other marketing activities when required.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have the following. However, experience in every area is not necessary.


  • An understanding of website and content management systems
  • An understanding of data and databases
  • A basic understanding of SEO and PPC
  • Ability to work on own in a busy and fast paced environment
  • Understanding of social media
